Prepare yourself for the relentless onslaught of Mortarion, Lord of the Death Guard, as he brings destruction upon his enemies on the battlefield. For ten thousand years, Mortarion has crushed all who dare stand against him. Surrounded by swarms of chittering Daemon mites, droning flies, and noxious plague vapors, Mortarion descends upon his foes with his massive, creaking wings. The thudding beat of these foul pinions instills crawling dread in his enemies, while the reek of death that wafts from his presence fills their ranks. Merely standing in Mortarion's presence is lethal, as opponents choke and collapse under the onslaught of myriad plagues that churn the air around him.
Contained within this multi-part plastic kit is everything you need to assemble Mortarion, the Daemon Primarch of Nurgle. This towering model defies the very notion of a miniature, as he looms over the rest of the Death Guard army and even gives Bloodthirsters cause to look up. Mortarion is adorned in the baroque power armor known as the Barbaran Plate, its surfaces covered in rust and decay. Each chunky component of his armor bears skulls, spikes, and the twisted symbols of Nurgle. Mouldering robes, chains, and a rotten cowl hang from Mortarion's armor, partially obscuring the system of pipes that feed his breathing apparatus. It is safe to assume that this ventilator is not delivering fresh air, but instead vile spores and disease.
Mortarion wields two foul weapons. The first is Silence, a massive scythe with rusted, razor-sharp chain-teeth. This fearsome blade is stained with the blood of countless worlds and has the power to hack even a Reaver Titan to pieces. The second weapon is The Lantern, an ancient energy pistol. The kit provides two options for modeling these weapons, allowing for either a more neutral pose with the weapons down by Mortarion's side or a more aggressive pose.
One of Mortarion's most striking features is his massive, decaying wings. Covered in pockmarks, holes, and tears, these wings represent the horror and decay associated with Nurgle's forces. Accompanying Mortarion on the model are several extras. Two Nurgling Drones carrying phosphex bombs hang from the chains on Mortarion's armor, while three additional Nurglings can be found on the base—one carrying a Chaos icon, another waving a censer, and the third carrying a tank of unspeakably horrid substances. Even the base itself is intricately detailed, with rocks that are being corrupted by the foul presence of the Daemon Primarch.
Mortarion, Daemon Primarch of Nurgle, comes as a staggering 78 components and is supplied with a Citadel 100mm Round base. Assemble this imposing model and unleash the wrath of Nurgle upon your enemies. Please note that the kit requires assembly and is supplied unpainted. To bring out the full glory of Mortarion, we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.
